…because I have an awful headache. So I thought, hey, what about I take a break and write stuff about myself? Great idea, brain! Here we go.

  1. I absolutely love office supplies, but mostly pens. One of my favorite websites is jetpens.com. I buy more pens/pencils whenever I get tired of the ones that I have, and I have enough pens/paper to last me years. My collection could satisfy a small company of 10 for at least a year.
  2. I worry incessanty and can’t help it. Very little of my life is spent not worrying. Did I save up enough money for taxes? Lock my car? OMG did I forget to put on underwear?!
  3. I feel weird taking vacations. If I were on vacation, I would take it as an opportunity to work while in a tropical locale instead of an opportunity to not work and relax. I don’t think I’ve been on a really long vacation since I was last in the Philippines. Ever since I’ve started working full time, I haven’t taken a long real vacation, and I seriously need one.
  4. I try to think the best of people and try to rationalize their actions. If someone cuts me off, I shrug it off and think “Maybe they’re living a life or death emergency” instead of “God, that asshole should slow the fuck down!” 9 out of 10 times, I am wrong about this.
  5. I am very indecisive. I can barely decide what to make for dinner most nights which is why I usually eat the same thing for lunch: Turkey and swiss sandwich on low calorie wheat bread with lettuce and honey mustard.
  6. At the age of 22, I still have no clue what I am going to do when I “grow up.” Though I am completing my degree in Psychology, I am determined to end up working in a technology field because that is where ALL of my work experience is.
  7. I have a penchant for pretty/expenive things, but I have great self control and rarely indulge. I really need to get the balance right because I feel deprived sometimes. I mean, just take a look at my amazon wish list.
  8. I work from home and must have some sound in the background or else I will not be able to concentrate. Recently, I’ve have been going through various TV shows and watching entire seasons in a few days. The latest one is Damages; which I really don’t like, but it’s decent background noise.
  9. I love dogs so much that my voice goes up an octave when I start talking about them. Boyfriend and I have two that live in the apartment (JD and Jasmine), and they are the only things that I take pictures of regularly. Jasmine is currently traumatized because I chased her around with an exercise ball and now she refuses to be anywhere besides underneath my desk. When I lived in Waco (yay, Baylor!), my roommate and I would volunteer at the humane society to cheer ourselves up. In high school, I headed up the service committee in NHS and made sure we had a supplies drive for the Houston Humane Society. You see, I truly love dogs. I think someone once said, “Dogs are like people without all the bullshit.” I completely agree.
  10. I have a short attention span and I am very jittery. It takes me FOREVER to do long, boring tasks (kinda like this). Boyfriend always complains that I pace when we talk and I always have to be doing something. I am extremely restless. I’ve gotten up to walk around my living four four times since I started writing this.
  11. The first two years of college were some of the most awesome times of my life. Unfortunately, I eventually had to come home, face my parents and be responsible. Which, to say the least, sucked.
  12. I tend to dwell on things for too long, and I really should work on that. I have been better recently because I realize there is a shit ton of things in the world that I can’t change or control. (FYI: a shit ton weighs much more than a metric ton)
  13. I love technology. At any time, I am considering buy a HP Mini 1000 or a variety of other gadgets. There are currently six computers in my small home office. Four are mine, 2 are for work; and of the four that I own, I only use 2 on a regular basis.
  14. Expanding on #13, I really want to get a DSLR. Then I want to have adventures and take pictures so I can use them to decorate a wall or two and show off how awesome I am. I have a hard time taking pictures of people (especially myself) for some reason — I can never make people look good.
  15. If I watch BBC for too long, I start to imitate a British accent. Shows that I watch: Keeping up Appearances, Doctor Who, and The IT Crowd. British slang is so novel.
  16. I am extremely private and secretive. I fit the “astrological profile” of a scorpio profile almost perfectly. My best friend is also a scorpio and we are so alike and understand each other so well that it’s kind of weird. The avearge profile really makes us sound like calculating bitches. I may elaborate more on this later since astrology is silly.
  17. I MUST have caffeine on a daily basis. I have become one of those adults that appreciates a cup of coffee in the mornings. Five years ago, ordering from a Starbucks menu intimidated me but now I’m a pro.
  18. One of my pet peeves is people that don’t show mastery of the English language. Seriously people, English is technically my second language (I didn’t learn it until I was 4 years old) and I know the difference between too and to! So, um, you should too.
  19. My IQ was once tested as 160+, but I think it was an anomaly from my normal scores because I feel like an idiot on a day-to-day basis.
  20. I like to make things like food and crafts (and website too!). Most of all, I want to make more food. Yummy food, to be specific. But I am still learning the ins and outs of spices. Alton Brown, you are my hero.
  21. I am more of a sprinter than a marathon runner. And this applies to more than just running. That said, I would at least like to finish a half marathon some time in my life, but I’m not sure I have the patience for 13.1 miles.
  22. I am a chronic procrastinator. In my earlier college years, I’ve been known to start writing essays hours before they are due (I mean 8+ page papers, not little 2-pagers). I still do this occassionaly but I am getting much better at time management becase, frankly, I don’t have that much time between work, school, and trying to keep my shit together.
  23. Religion. My grandfather (mom’s side) is a minister in the Church of Christ and my grandmother (dad’s side) is a devout Catholic. I was baptized but never went though confirmation. I don’t believe in all the rituals that come with religion (especially Catholicism) but I do believe in God. It’s a complicated relationship.
  24. I really want to be a polyglot. I have some understanding of Portuguese, Spanish and Tagalog though I’m not fluent in any of the above. I am going through Rosetta stone for German but all I can remember is “das auto.” Damn you Volkswagen commercials!
  25. I was born in the Philippines and didn’t come to the US until the age of four. Most people are surprised that I wasn’t born here because I have no trace of an accent and I’m so “americanized.” Well, yeah, I’ve been living here for over 18 years! I totally want the American dream: a great job that pays for a huge house, gass-guzzling SUV, 2.5 kids and 2 dogs. Kidding. I try not to be conventional.

In retrospect, this took entirely WAY too much brain power to write.
