This is a lovely story. I volunteer at a shelter here in Houston and the rule is to put down any pit bulls that are brought in. My dog is part pit (even though she doesn’t really look like it) and it breaks my heart because pits get such a bad rep when they can be the sweetest family dog. This past Sunday, I was volunteering and saw that one of the newest intakes was a pit bull and it made me sad knowing that poor dog was going to be put down eventually. And it didn’t even do anything wrong, it’s just some poor dog that someone didn’t want anymore or was found on the street.
