phone == dead
My phone died last night and even after many attempts to hard reset it, the screen stayed a blank white color. I’m fairly certain it’s a screen problem but I bought a new phone just in case and will be repairing and possibly selling my beloved dash within the next month or so.
The thing that I’m most excited about is trying out the Symbian OS since I’m getting tired of...
favorite song in a movie
I am working at home today and caught A Walk to Remember on TV. This movie still makes me cry and Mandy Moore’s song during the play “Only Hope” is still my favotire performance in a movie. Youtube clip coming shortly.

I like the idea of having a touch screen and a full keyboard. For a while last week I was thinking about the pros and cons of the iPhone and what the new google phone could do to fill in the gaps.
They made one major improvement— they included a keyboard! But honestly, that’s nothing new. The HTC Wizard had it long before. The one thing that this phone really had to boast was the new,...

back to normal
Things are back to normal now for the most part. I am back in the office now. I feel guilty saying this and I feel awful for the people who are still affected by Ike (like my parents) but there were a few good things that came out of Ike. For me at least.
I actually went to my parents’ house yesterday and our neighbor across the street had substantial roof damage and everything on the...
as seen on TV
When I work at home I usually turn on what I call mindless TV which ranges from HGTV to TLC to the Home Shopping network. So many little “as seen on tv” commercials have come on in the past hour…and each time I think “Oh my gosh! That’s so ingenious.” That’s so sad, I know.
So far, I’ve seen:
Wonder Hanger
Perfect Patty
This list will update as...
ike, part 3
Well it’s day three after the hurricane (or is this day four?). I’ve just heard that my office will not be opening again until next week which will seriously cut down on those lovely billable hours. If the developers don’t get projects to work on, neither do I. On the plus side, I get to work from home on some side projects and some other light tasks.
I’ve just realized...
retail therapy
I, for some reason, love retail therapy. Every month, I buy at least a new shirt, pair of shoes, bag or pants/skirt. And it makes me feel 10x better if I get it from ebay or somewhere cheap like Ross. (Blame it on the Asian frugalness?)
Last night, I came away from ebay with: 1 pair express editor pants ($21 ebay, $80 retail), 1 pair bcbgirls black wedges, and 1 pair of chinese laundry sandals. I...
ike, part 2
So…no water in Houston has sucked for the past day.
There have been various issues in the aftermath of Ike that has left the water pressure in Houston to less than normal. So we have had no water through the faucet until now. Yes you know what this means — no showers for four days! I went to Baskin-Robbins today and there were obviously people that were there to stay cool and Kroger...
ike
So Ike has finally passed. I’m really greatful that we didn’t have any damage and Houston has been pretty crazy for the past 24 hours or so. Yesterday it was hard to find anything open but we did find a Chinese place open at 6:45 PM and had 15 minutes to get something to go.
Last night I went to bed around 11PM and the wind already started up. Even before the storm made it here, a...
